A Sunday Afternoon of Unbelievable True Stories
Some stories are too strange for fiction. Too funny to make up. Too real to forget.
That’s exactly what you’ll get at You Say What! — an afternoon of true, unscripted stories told live by some of the most compelling voices around. No scripts. No safety nets. Just five storytellers, one stage, and tales that will make you laugh, gasp, and wonder how any of this actually happened.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan of live storytelling or just someone who appreciates a great “no way that’s real” moment, this is the Sunday afternoon you didn’t know you needed.
Meet Your Storytellers
- Miyo (Host): Moth StorySLAM Champion, storyteller, comedian, and the producer behind You Say What! She brings a little cultural confusion, a lot of curiosity, and stories that may make you say, “WHAT?!”
- Bernadette Birkett: An alumna of Chicago’s The Second City (1975–1978), Bernadette Birkett starred alongside Jim Belushi in Sexual Perversity in Chicago before NBC brought her to Los Angeles in 1980 for the pilot Nothing But Comedy. She went on to play Jackie Schumaker on It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.
- Chris Korbel: An NYC transplant who has called LA home for more than 30 years, Chris has performed all over the country—and still can’t find a good corned beef sandwich. He’s bringing his stories, his humor, and probably his complaints to the stage.
- Doyle Smiens:Actor, storyteller, educator, and lifelong theater guy, Doyle grew up in a tiny Iowa town where there were more cows than people and everyone knew everyone’s business. Basically, he had no choice but to become a storyteller.
- Jade-Lin Chiu: She can boost your credit score by 100 points—and make you laugh! She’s toured across the U.S. and returns to NYC for NYCF this November, followed by producing a show at the Gay Games in Vegas this January.
- Pam Noles: Former cop reporter, columnist, stage manager, and Moth StorySLAM winner, Pam has a lot of stories—and a very entertaining way of telling them. Just don’t get her started on why Grendel should have kicked Batman’s ass.
Don’t wait until the doors are open—our seats fill up fast! Grab your tickets now and join us for the Sunday afternoon event everyone will be talking about on Monday morning.
